Chiropractic adjustment of the spine and other musculo-skeletal structures using a gentler, more targeted approach than traditional forceful manipulation.
Benefits of Chiropractic Alignment:
- Supports good posture.
- Reduces pain.
- Improves mobility and joint health.
- Improves circulation.
- Improves nervous system function.
- Improves cognitive function.
- Increases energy and lifts spirit.
- Decreases effects of stress.
- Can eliminate or reduce severity of headaches.
- Regular treatments will correct muscle imbalances that have developed to compensate for skeletal imbalances, dramatically reducing the likelihood of recurring issues.
While in Chiropractic school, Dr. Storkan learned a technique called “Motion Palpation” developed by a Belgian Chiropractor, Henri Gillet. He created a system of feeling each vertebral segment along the entire spine to evaluate it’s ability to move and function normally. He theorized that a joint that does not function normally can be very irritating to the spinal nerves and surrounding musculature. This has been confirmed by many research studies, and Dr. Storkan, having practiced this technique for the last thirty-five years, has found the same results.
When a vertebral segment is not moving or is dysfunctional, Dr. Storkan will use an instrument called “The Arthrostim” to adjust the segment so it can regain proper function. The “Arthrostim” is an adjusting tool that, unlike a manual adjustment which is more forceful, delivers gentle repetitive taps to the area that reestablishes the proper function in the joint. Because of Motion Palpation, he is then able to immediately reevaluate the function to see if it has been corrected.
Disc herniations, depending on their type and severity, may be referred out to another Chiropractor who has the equipment to deal with these conditions or for Medical evaluation.
Due to the gentle nature of the Arthrostim, there are no side-effects aside from those that could happen by not observing the contraindications listed below.
The only conditions that Dr. Storkan would not treat are cancer, recent trauma with highly inflamed tissue, and severely degenerated spinal segments that, even with the gentleness of the Arthrostim, may present a problem.
X-Rays: Dr. Storkan usually does not need x-rays unless he suspects cancer or severe spinal degeneration.
Medicare: Due to the laws of Medicare, patients over the age of 65 cannot be accepted for chiropractic care.
